Hey! Just wanted to start by saying that this is perfectly normal! Personally, it took my boyfriend and I a few attempts on a few separate days of him just slowly trying to put it in a little bit, and then a little farther. All the while, we were communicating (very important in my opinion) because it was hurting me worse than I've ever felt before. He would push a little in and if it hurt, I would push back on his arms, etc. Eventually we called it a day, and then stopped again the second day we tried. Third time was still painful at first but managed to get all the way in! After that, no more big pain! Things got smoother and less uncomfortable. Then after a couple more times of having sex, it started to become really enjoyable. However, for probably the first month or so, it still hurt some whenever he would first put it in, but would be fine afterwards.

My best friend had it worse than me. She managed to have completed sex (for her bf anyway) her first time, but was in extreme pain the whole time and was bleeding for a few HOURS afterwards. The same thing happened the next 3-4 times, but eventually things got better.

TL;DR Bleeding and intense pain during/after your first time (or first few times) of having penetrative sex is completely normal. It's true, you just gotta power through the pain to get to the good stuff.
