Silliest thing I’ve gotten in trouble for as a nanny

these responses make me feel a little better about what happened 2 days ago. i had just gotten to nks house & was playing a game with him, i won a round & cheerfully said "i won!, i won!" in a playful joking way bc i feel it's so natural to do so & was trying to be fun? i wasn't actually excited to win because that game really just has no significance to me & i mean, it's just a game. my sole intent was to try & lighten up the mood. well i got in to a 4 hr conversation with the mom & apparently i was making fun of him & agonizing him & claiming i'm childish. i really couldn't make sense of it, i could see how the kid could mis interpret that & i completely understand how that could make a kid sad but for the mom to accuse me of trying to diminish him even after i tried to explain to her that the intent of making fun of him simply wasn't there & not at all what i was aiming to do really is heartbreaking. i apologized for making him sad & assured her that i'll be more careful but she still gave me a lot of shit for it & said she feels uncomfortable now. that's not the person that i am and no way in a million years would i ever feel inclined to act superior or talk someone down. i grew up with 5 siblings & we grew playing competitive games & always laughing it off afterward & cheering the wins, really caught me off guard & i've learned a lesson.. "shut my personality off".
