Are control top pantyhose supposed to be worn as underwear? I just recently purchased a product called Secret Day Sheer (you can see the packet front and back), which feature a control panty and a cotton crotch. I took them out of the packet yesterday morning and noticed that the panty was a lot thicker than what I'm accustomed to (see for yourself). They looked as though they would feel really bulky with panties, so I took my underwear off before putting them on just to see how it felt. I still wasn't sure if I was supposed to wear them like that, partly because I could see through the material (apart from the gusset) and was worried about privacy. I went online to find the answer before I left for school, I couldn't look things up for long, but I did find this WiseGeek article that states very explicitly under one of the photos on the left side: "Control top pantyhose is typically meant to be worn without underwear." Since my dress was form-fitting and had a hemline that was just above the knees, I figured nobody would notice; it's not like I'm spreading my legs out or anything. So I went ahead and stayed commando in them for the day.

These pantyhose were a double-edged sword. To be honest, I found them to be slightly uncomfortable, although that's probably just because I'm not used to them yet. Even though they do feel like regular panties, the control top is extremely tight, and it tends to get a little itchy in some spots (there's a reason for this - a very personal one, which I'd rather not talk about here). On the other hand, I loved the slimming effect that they gave off. There were no lines showing through my dress, and they helped to even out my figure. This was the first time in recent memory where I actually liked my thighs. By the time I was at school, I had forgotten all about the fact that I was wearing see-through undergarments. They just felt like a really tight pair of long underwear.
