Congress also has one chamber that’s not population-based but state based for the exact same reasons.

Secondly, explain how it’s fair to PEOPLE, not states. States don’t have feelings about anything, people do.

The state is made up of the PEOPLE that live there.

I don’t really know how else I can word it. Why do higher income earners pay more tax? That’s literally not fair. Well we decided that it’s better for society and money has diminishing returns in what you can accomplish with it anyways, so we deem it fair. Just pretend your vote is taxed. There’s a diminishing return in what each vote can accomplish as population density increases since all of you and your neighbors need similar representation. So you have to pay a higher tax and we deem it fair.
