Sony pulls "World's Fastest Platinum Trophy" game from PSN • Eurogamer.net

Nice post.

I never tried Hatred because it was such a clear Edge Lord marketing ploy with the stupidest under-sexed 8th grader fantasy of what is "cool" as the protagonist. A simple fix that would have given the game depth and artistic depth would be to have the silly death metal protagonist turn back into a hundred pound white 14 y/o kid from the suburbs with light acne when he dies and have prolonged and sad death scenes with him crying for his mother as he bleeds out or pleading with the cop he just forced into shooting him to save him. "I'm sorry! Don't let me die! I didn't mean it! Please don't let me die! Can you call my Mo--" his pleading cuts to an abrupt stop as his eyes glaze over and life leaves him.

In any case, having a racist on an edge lord development team that clearly was aimed at selling a below-average indie game based on controversy would not be surprising, but it wouldn't make the game racist. Otherwise, every game that Orson Scott Card was hired to help write would be homophobic - even though they didn't deal with issues of sexuality and thus did not take any kind of stance.

Btw, I don't think you necessarily disagree with any of this u/GragGun as it was u/Classtoise who said that Hatred was racist (maybe mixing it up with another game or maybe meaning to say "violent" instead of "racist"), I just happened to be responding to you before getting on my soap box. :)
