Ok, so you were agreeing with OP, albeit maybe in an opposite way - having too many characters in play is a negative, especially for casual viewers. Having fewer characters in play at a given time makes it that much easier for viewers to keep track of the show as a cohesive story. That seems to be what you both (actually all three of us) are saying.

Maybe there was a missed double negative in your first comment or something, because I’ve read it a few times and it still seems convoluted. With a gun to my head I couldn’t tell you what point is being made there, or how it relates to OP’s #2. Not trying to shit on you either, it’s just like a scab I can’t leave alone. Might be best just to let me live out my days never knowing, it’d be poetic
