(Spoilers) Why FTWD isn't as dumb as we think. Cobalt is the answer.

I doubt it will get cancelled, numbers are too high for it.

But heads will roll behind the scenes and hopefully someone that has some sort of coherent plan can be put in place that provides us with stories we would like to see, characters that we actually like and plot advancement that is not so jilted.

People said it last week with the sudden jump in time and the complete lack of zombies in a city of 10 million people, but even this episode suffered from that again with essentially empty streets and the one building with actual zombies and humans fighting each other all happens completely off screen while we watch Travis watching a radio and then look around panicked a little. Not forgetting the not so subtle constant reminders that the military are not the good guys, i think every single show, book, movie and song for the last 20 years has spent quite enough time drilling that into our heads without FTWD needing to parrot it too like its some sort of new concept that in times of crisis the military will end up being either idiots, arseholes or antagonists.

The camera should have followed those soldiers inside that building and the guys who came out alive should have been season 2 (and onwards) main characters, they could flesh out that group with other people fleeing LA or people they pick up on the way.

As it stands I could quite happily see every season 1 main character get killed in the finale because even the interesting ones of those are too tied up with the annoying characters.

Do not even get me started on the fucking love triangle family drama arc, the one thing more done to death than the "military are bad" cliche.
