Twitter is a corporation and the squad, being rationalists, is corporate-skeptical.

Corporations are dumb. As much as CEOs like to advertise themselves as IQ 180 supergeniuses (and there is a whole subindustry dedicated to establishing that as a generally accepted fact), corporations themselves operate on two neurons: eat & kill rivals.

Niccolo Machiavelli is the closest thing corporations have to Jesus. To the extent a corporation has morals, they flow from raw-power theory. And so, the squad, seen by the corporation as a existential threat, will be targeted by those in service to the eat/kill imperative.

Usually you just get ignored, but the squad is high profile. God forbid they should ever make a mistake in life, that would be used to mute their voice.
