Star Wars fans, why is Star Wars so popular?

  • I disagree about the acting. The acting for the most part is good. Granted, some of the Prequel acting isn't good, but it isn't as bad as you make it out to be. "It all seemed so fake." is an over exaggeration.

  • Plots very predictable and unsurprising. Again, disagree. Vader as Luke's father is one of cinema's biggest twists. I doubt you were able to predict everything but if you were I don't know what to say. I still find them enjoyable and think enough varied things happen to keep it interesting.

  • Yes, Star Wars sells a lot of merch. I don't think that's a bad thing at all. A lot of us fans love the comics, games, novels, toys and other fun things outside of the movie.

I don't know if you're trying to be a troll or not, but I don't think you'll find many people on this sub that will agree with you. If you were only talking about one or two of the movies then I may be able to see some of your points, but in a franchise of currently 9 movies (Yes I'm including the 2008 Clone Wars prequel) I find most of what you say to just be flat out wrong.
