To steal from Home Depot

The level of victimization isn't even the same. We're talking about a faceless entity being robbed vs an actual individual on the streets. The gravity of consequences for either is also not remotely the same. This will have almost 0 impact on Home Depot and end costs... it could be the difference between homelessness (and even physical safety) for the individual. It should be perceived differently.

Not that it matters because in most cases it sadly does still apply... people don't generally intervene in crimes unless they think it will be easy (like taking shots at a guy moving a cart with 2 hands and not fighting back.) None of these pussies in this video would intervene in a real robbery.
