Your comment reminds me of an early PW blog post that sticks out to me. She shared a story on her blog of her daughters rocking out in the truck while out feeding the animals and she was perplexed by what they could be listening to and having that reaction. She approached the truck and it turned out it was the bumper music between NPR segments. Her followers were NOT having it. The Pioneer family listens to NPR?? It was unbelievable how vicious people were about it especially considering that public radio is often the only radio available in smaller markets in the middle of nowhere.

I realize this is only tangentially related to the discussion, but I found it interesting that this was interpreted as a class signifier that they could not stand for.
