Why do we support Israel?

Any theology, ie. dispensationalism, that shows up in the 19th century and says to the Christians in the past, "hey, you guys have been interpreting the Bible wrong the entire time. Here's a new way to read it!" should be held to great scrutiny. Unfortunately for America, the people bought into it. The greatest harm to Christianity in America has been dispensationalism - your comment is evidence of this.

I wish I could say that what you believe is confined to the continental US so the rest of the world would be safe but our missionaries have been exporting this terrible theology. And with it comes all the false prophets who obsess over this so called "rapture" - who keep making false prophecies about the end times. They really make the rest of us Christians look like crazies.

I used to be like you. I grew up with Left Behind, the rapture, all that crazy stuff about Israel. Until I actually started studying the Bible and studying church history. Then you realize you need to find a different church that has sound theology.

Just to clarif - the Church is true Israel. Christians are the true offspring of Abraham (Galatians 3:29).
