no, this is me wanting change for the better. the amateur scene is shit in csgo. i've played both 1.6 and css competitively at a high level, i was very involved and had a lot of fun playing.
your options have changed A LOT when it comes to csgo compared to previous iterations. you're pretty much forced to pay if you want to enter a league with a team or a ladder with your team etc, and that step is a big step to take and it will mean many people who would enjoy competitive cs wont ever experience it and find out they love it.
IRC is pretty much dead compared to before, majority of good and free websites are dead too. Matchmaking teaches players very bad habits and since you can experience sort-of real cs (at least its 5v5 eh?) by playing MM a lot of people go to MM who would previously have gone to the communities or the irc to find a team or a mix.
MM promotes very weird and poor playstyles if you look to climb in ranks, this is because the way it calculates your rank is fucking dumb, and i say that as a global, its just stupid how it works.
Team Matchmaking would give a free entry point for people interested in trying out competitive cs and they would get to experience cs how its supposed to be played, with a team against a team, its a very big change from a pug with 5 people all speaking different languages and dealing with rageissues and puberty.

You arent creating a better game, you arent creating a better community, you're just robbing yourself of the chance to improve on the weakspots of the game, and a very big one just happens to be the terrible amateur community.
1.6 had a better one, css had a better one, csgo simply does not have a good amateur community, especially not for brand new players, but even players who are semi will find a worse scene now than we had before.
