Teddy says he doesn’t cook Nigerian food for Faye because it’s too spicy

I totally agree these comments were insensitive at face value or in a context of her refusing to eat his Nigerian cooking. I also agree with others that enjoying a different cultures cuisine with you love of that culture is amazing!

BUT we don’t really know how much he grew up eating or cooking this food or that if it he any experience cooking it. He may only know how to cook very spicy dishes, who knows! Especially as Elizabeth said, his dad passed away when he was very young and is the one who was Nigerian so he probably didn’t eat it as much at home as he would have had his dad been around. Teddy might also not like cooking the dishes himself, either!!!

I take offense to and am publicly critical about a lot of the things that love Islanders have been saying these days (hello Molly Mae) but this just feels like something that is being blown out of proportion… there are more pressing things
