Therapists of Reddit, what made you realize you were treating a sociopath?

I think most of the responses here are bullshit honestly. My dad for sure has ASPD but has never gotten a diagnosis officially. Like he killed a neighbor's dog by putting it in a storage freezer in my grandparent's basement when he was in kindergarten and tried to drown some random little girl during a family vacation to the beach at some point idk how old he was I just know that my aunt thought it was extra creepy because he was a lot older than the girl. My grandparents put him in therapy but according to everyone it was a bloody waste because therapists kept saying nothing was wrong with him. He's superficially really awesome seeming and is careful to keep his mouth shut. Like he doesn't open up to anyone about he fucked up things that he's done all of the info I have is from relatives or personal experience. People describe him as very proper and straight laced and nerdy and most people who know him would be shocked to hear about the shit he's done and wouldn't believe it. He's wealthy but he acts excessively entitled and pretentious and literally will not acknowledge fault or accept responsibility for anything under any circumstances. Like you can outright call him on some shit with receipts in hand and he'll turn around and accuse you or just outright act like he has no idea what you're talking about.
