There are two kinds of people in this world. What are they?

The wonderful (and sometimes awful) thing about humanity is the intricately interwoven nuances that makes each one of us unique---snowflakes adrift in the ever-changing world, so to speak. There are attitudes that sometimes might seem to suggest an either-or scenario for people, but my experience with both psychology and theater disputes this "two kinds only" assumption.

As to the new GOP-talking-point prejudice against "takers": One cannot give from an empty cup, so being a taker upon occasion is essential. Also consider this: If someone wishes to give but there are no takers, then how does any exchange take place? If a wise teacher wishes to impart (give) knowledge to a classroom full of young undeveloped minds, will there be "room at the inn" for this knowledge to be absorbed? A seedling takes from the soil, the sun, the atmosphere in order to grow to full bloom and then give its amazing bounty to the world...and so it is with people. When a mind narrows to bigotry due to repressed self-loathing or hidden inner fears, the person in possession of this narrowed mind might take on mannerisms or a demeanor that would cause someone to think this person was a "hater" of others when the real truth would be this person is simply projecting outward away from self, a fragile detested self that fears failure, rejection, change, or any other perceived negative outcome. In the eyes of poet Tennyson, this hate-spewing person would be "an infant crying in the night/an infant crying for the Light/and with no language but a cry."

People are far too complex to be reduced a "two kinds"...look beneath the facades of their behaviors or demeanor to discover a wealth of resourceful creativity or hidden strengths and positives.
