Why is there no discussion thread for the Governor's debate?

Okay. If my taxes increase slightly to fix our roads, I will support that. But after reading her plan, I’m worried even more money will be taken out of my paycheck to expand Medicaid and increase the funding to Planned Parenthood. I feel like my measly $38,000 a year is going to turn into $25,000 after taxes. I can’t afford to pay for so much of other peoples’ benefits. I work at a place that serves low-income families, and fully believe that there are those people who truly need our services, but it’s so common to hear that the mothers we serve are pregnant again, when already we have a few that can not afford clothing to fit their other children. I’m struggling myself and can’t keep letting the government take more of my paycheck. What is the solution to this? I know that people are in need and I’m thankful there are services available for them, but do we need to expand those services, or do we need to start looking at public assistance as more of a temporary thing? This is why I am not sure I could vote for Gretchen. I’d be happy to hear others’ opinions.
