BREAKING: COASTAL SURGE HAS FOLDED

As I am a charter member of the organization. I marched from 2013-2015. We had our financial crises in 2014 where we almost didn't go on tour. That was due to poor financial management by the founder and old executive director Matthew shrewsbury. He had stepped down for the 2015 season. But in 2014 he had been responsible for not spending money responsibly and he wasn't communicating to the rest of the board. We had raised the money and went on tour in 2014 and we were pretty successful for what we were. Great. 2015 rolls around and there was some controversy with the board of directors if coastal surge should field a corps for the 2015 summer. Due to the crises last year (2014) there were members saying it's not a Good idea. Well, with the passion and optimism from the other members of the board they decided to try again for 2015. Things were going smoothly until about the last week of move ins where the executive board had came to the conclusion that the numbers weren't adding up to a number sufficient to go on tour with safely. How this was caused: a mixture of a lot of things. Poor management, financial incompetence, lack of communication, and we had a hole where money was supposed to come in that didn't. Now as for Eric Thompson. Take it from me. I knew him as an educator and as a mentor. He is a great man. He obviously has a past with things that's he is not proud of. But coastal surge needs to remembered on what we accomplished during our existence. Sure it sucks that the kids had to go home. But they still got the experience on what it's like to work hard to obtain a final product and as a 3 year vet to find that people who are trashing some of the best people I met and have taught me how to be the best musician I can be kinda hurts. But it's the Internet and you all have your opinions. But instead of guessing and assuming based on irrelevant articles you found on the Internet, here it is.
