Haha this is spot on.

There is a general undercurrent of malevolence where anyone could snap at any moment but everyone wears a mask of being a good person. The good people gossip constantly behind the backs of the bad people who understand they can show up late, basically get away with anything because no one will confront them directly. Everyone snitches and gossips thinking that will get them ahead but there is no clear organizational chart or chain of command so it goes nowhere. You can literally yell at the "boss" in front of the entire staff and you will not be let go. The entire operation feels like you and everyone else is stuck inside some dream that has turned into a nightmare where the "boss" started with good intentions and it grew too large, too unpredictable and unorganized until it was beyond her control and minions run around all day pushing a boulder up a hill only to fall back down again. Every "employee" has the solution and is told they are next in line for a promotion but there is never any pay increase and the titles mean nothing they are basically nicknames.

Every employee rests easy at night knowing they would be a huge success in the corporate world but is only there to make a difference and is a person of virtue. It is only up to the "boss" to shut this down and walk away from this beast where donations show up everyday but they just fill bigger and bigger warehouses until you imagine some meteor taking out the main building and all the volunteers and employees scattering back into the world of capitalism where you are a cog in a machine but at least you know the engine isn't janky and crooked and running on the emotions of one person trying to collect the most virtue. At least in a job you have the same mentality as your co workers where you are all trapped in poverty together but every non profit employee thinks they are good people so they will backstab you over every task for the greater good, proving they can staple more packets than you, carry more packages, unload more trucks.

They will give the task of bathroom monitor to the biggest snitch in the building where a woman that looks like every other middle manager follows you to the bathroom and clocks the time. She will collect all secrets and personal information from the floor and report directly to the "boss". She will specifically ask you personal questions to illicit said info and pretend she is a friend when she delves into how your husband beats you but you have to understand she is just a proxy. No one will invite her to anything outside of work but she will try to invite you and take up as much time off the clock as possible.

It feels like a middle school class inhabited adult bodies and are all playing pretend work.
