There's something about DeAndre

In regards to the All NBA team selection, you need to do some research to understand if it's deserved. The All NBA first team only consists of players that make the playoffs. There has never been an instant where a player made the first team without making the playoffs.

That, compounded with the fact that the center position has been weakened during this era, you see why DJ made it. Cousins didn't have the record, Marc missed a lot of last season, KAT was too young. There were already very few centers to begin with so it was between Drummond and DJ. The Clippers were better so DJ got the votes, though he in no way was the best center last year.

DJ is in the perfect situation. Chris Paul is arguably one of the best PG to ever play the game, he benefits immensely from that. His athleticism and knowing his role make it so he doesn't do anything outside his scope. But let's be real. Dude sucks offensively unless Paul is throwing him lobs. He's been a detriment in close game situations during Paul's entire Clipper tenure, and he was a huge reason why they lost that series to the Rockets. In late game situations you can't have DJ out there because he can't create anything for himself and he's a huge liability on the free throw line. He's reaping the effects of Chris Paul who knows what DJ can and can't do. But you put DJ on the Kings instead of Boogie and they'd be hard pressed to win 10 games the entire season.
