These bees know what's up

As a small hobby beekeeper, I can tell you that most wild colonies nowadays will perish after a year or so because of diseases which came through import from Asiatic nations, that is obviously a side effect from capitalist endeavours gone astray. Another big problem is the so-called green desert, it's often better to keep bees in the city then in most countryside areas due to lack of flowers or variation thereof through monoculture, overfertilisation and pesticides. Those are some of the consequences of the economic system.

On the other hand, especially for small time keepers like myself, there is no real profit involved. If I do it smart and nothing big goes wrong I can just about break even. It becomes a work of love for me then when you consider the hours spent there, trying to support the hives and giving them the infrastructural potential to develop in full. Honey is a byproduct, it's not a profit maker but it rather it nulls out to costs on the other end. Thus my attention and thinking can be aimed at the hives themselves without underlying worries.
