Im not viewing media in the way you are. I cant see it as a literal escape. I see it as a reflection of what people think and feel, it's just a way to share ideas and opinions.

So in that sense, you might see why i have an issue with women outside of the beauty standard not being depicted. It's not because being a stocky woman sucks, its because this means no one else wants to even acknowledge i exist. My body type does not exist in anyone's mind or perception but my own. And existentially, and socially, that bothers me. It just does. I want to be acknowledged as a person who exists, in the context of a setting where no one has a problem acknowledging that thin & busty women exist.

In short, i would rather everyone JUST validate that im a person who walks around and has thoughts & feelings than change the way my body looks (inherently). As it is now, because my body is so "out of the norm", it kind of feels like no one should be burdened with looking at me or trying to percieve me. That feeling sucks
