Thoughts on Abortion?

Have I not made myself clear?

the Church [does not] preach that liars are inherently condemned

is the opposite of

'the Church [does not] preach that liars are condemned'

and I definitely wrote the former. I DO think that the Church should be clear about what is sinful and what is not, and tell its congregations to act in as sinless a way as possible. I was making the point that for certain sins, abortion among them, not nearly enough emphasis is placed upon God's forgiveness, which is the most important part of the dual sin-redemption message.

What I take exception to is the language of condemning people, I don't think it's productive in leading them away from sin. Why would a woman who has had an abortion turn to a church whose first instinct is apparently to condemn her, and offer forgiveness and salvation later? I've clearly phrased things in a way that's made people think I believe the church should offer platitudes and niceties, when what I want it to be as rigorous at pulling people into God's sight as it can be.
