Thoughts on caffeine for a 3 year old?

It's all good, it really seems like you are doing what is best for him. That extra help at daycare can be a game changer. Sorry if I came across as accusing you of pushing meds on your child, you understand the risks and are just looking out for his best interest, that's fantastic.

I have a sore spot when it comes to the subject of medicating children because my mother in law would have her kids diagnosed with whatever possible thing she could think of, starting them on psychiatric meds way early on. She had 10 kids and two are currently locked in in the state psychiatric hospital, her youngest daughter is sitting in jail right now and one killed himself at a party we were at a few years ago. She literally convinced them all they had something wrong with them in order to get them on disability so she could get some extra money while they were under 18. Now they all live on a joke of $1000 a month and refuse to get jobs but will ask us for money constantly.

I should say that she put them on a lot more than just stimulants. Actually the ones that took only Ritalin or Adderall are much better off than the others, so there may be something to that study.

I understand that for some kids medication can be a life safer, but I also feel like it's over diagnosed in children.

Anyway, sorry to vent, have a great Saturday!
