TIL in 2007 there was a private 'millennium project' to select 7 new wonders of the world, from a list of 200. Over 100 million votes were cast, and the winners selected was: Chichen Itza, Christ the Redeemer, Great Wall of China, Machu Picchu, Petra, Taj Mahal, and the Colosseum.
