TIL "Devils Advocate" was an official position within the Catholic Church, the Devils Advocate would argue against any proposed sainthood in order to uncover any hidden or overlooked flaws

I googled, there are over 800 saints that the roman catholic church recognises. How many can most people name? How many people are familiar with most or even a good chunk of them? I'd be very surprised if my even my local priest could name close to 50, much less tell me something about them.
