Since your family finally accepted you, have you ever met a gay guy who's family wanted to accept him but he wanted no part of them anymore?

My uncle came out a few years ago, and he completely cut himself out of our family. Everyone just wants to talk to him, find out if he is doing well, but he doesnt respond to email, text or phone calls. Even my more close minded family members want him to be a part of their lives again, they dont care about his relationship choices.
He appears to be quite happy, he seems to have made his husband Jay's kids his new nephews and nieces.
I dont want to force anything on him, would just be nice to talk again. Like since I know that he and Jay sell art at the city market on the weekends, would it be overstepping to show up to their stall?
