TIL during the Vietnam War Hugh Thompson Jr. order his men to turn their guns on American soldiers to protect Vietnamese civilians and helped put a stop to the My Lai Massacre.

I'm not speaking 'gobblety gook'. Freedom IS whatever you want it to be, telling me that I can be free because I don't adhere to what you think freedom is lunacy. Fine, if you want to go by the definition someone else made up years ago and put in a book fine, lets do that, sticking to western democracies, goes without mentioning that this does not apply to certain countries.

1) the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.

Huh? What makes you think America is the only place you can do this? You can think what you want wherever you are, so that's irrelevant. Being able to act how you want without hindrance or restraint. Hate to tell you mate but you can't do this in America, you have laws that govern what you can and can't do just like anywhere else. Being able to speak what you want is fine anywhere else too, people will just hate you if you start spouting racism or hate speech everywhere. + 1 Everywhere else

2) absence of subjection to foreign domination or despotic government.

The EU is US's bitch? That is unnecessarily rude and just plain wrong, you have nothing to back that up. They are sovereign nations that have existed for centuries before America was even colonised, please explain what you mean. All Western democracies elect their leaders and politicians, they are free from domination and despotic government. + 1 Everywhere else.

3) the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved.

This is relevant, America and much of Europe had slaves until the 19th Century and beyond. America has the highest rate of incarcerated citizens in the world (higher than China and Russia), literally means a lower % of your citizens are free. They were imprisoned for not falling in line with what your government wants you to do or say. + 1 Everywhere else.

I'm not warping anything, educate yourself, don't really on internet arguments or what you see in the newspaper or on TV...Do your own research, dig deeper.
