TIL I learned that in 2014 a woman used sperm from oral sex to get pregnant and successfully sued for child support

Its hard to say actually which has more or the other, it is true that there are higher molestation rates in general for men vs women, but its not some sort of vast gap that is often represented. Its likely still biased towards men, as this slate article points out but at the same time I have been unable to investigate some of the sources in that article and it looks like it confuses employee of the school with teacher. If a maintenance worker rapes a student that appears to also be included in the statistics, which may skew things towards men. Especially when they try to push that low number for sexual assaults and rapes done by women which fails to factor in the cascading effect of how courts and social pressures will build on each other in a multiplicative effect that while it would not bring women up to equal for sexual assaults as your typical mra would say definitely under represents them. The answer is we really dont know as we dont have solid data, but enough where both sides (the women are worse than men and the women can do nothing wrong! side) are able to push their narratives pretty easily and fit it into the data.

And even then there are confusing factors that might make it significantly easier for a male to be caught. For example it is commonly school policy for male teachers to have to keep their doors open when meeting one on one with female students and be in a space where there are other teachers or people around in order to prevent liability. These rules rarely apply to female teachers so when a male breaks routine and closes the door so they can bang on the desk it is much more noticeable and likely to be investigated then a female teacher who always keeps her door closed. Plus there is apparently a vein of thought that I have heard from my teacher friends of both sexes where women try to put the male teachers in situations where they either are or can be perceived to be breaking the rules for various reasons that does not exist in male students to female teachers. In some of those situations they may legitimately end up fucking the student or whatever but there is also the issue of perception and intentions. A teacher having sex with a student is unequivocally wrong but when a student is trying to provoke it, while guiltless may effect the numbers in a way that is misleading to how we imagine things. I again want to emphasize that I am not victim blaming here but just that it might be a factor in the data that would result in unusual statistics. Plus again, worker in the school vs teacher. So basically the TLDR is we dont fucking know, there are way to many factors involved without a comprehensive study, plus there becomes the issue of students wanting to say they banged a teacher or whatever. Its too complicated but likely the answer lies somewhere in the middle.
