tinted lips == waving a huge boner, apparently

I’ve not given it much thought because I only came across the argument when finding the interview 10 minutes ago, but I’d argue make up is most definitely a sexual signalling device. It’s literal job is to make the wearer more aesthetically attractive, and specific types of make up are designed to mimic biological sexual arousal indicators (red lipstick, blusher, etc.). As a society we also don’t tend to approve of letting children use make up, it’s considered an adult product. This implicitly suggests that we know it is used for sexual signalling and mate-attraction, which is not suitable for children to be engaging in.

ultimately it's on men to do the right thing and just... not act on impulse?

Well that would be great. And for the most part most men do the right thing. But sadly it’s not the case for all of them. So a discussion on how and why and how those behaviours can be changed is important.

I don't think we need clearer boundaries, we need better dialogue to navigate the boundaries properly.

Surely that’s 2 sides of the same coin? Boundaries are useless if no one is aware of them or understands them. Communicating the boundaries is as important as having them.
