Today at legoland, my son brought his Nintendo Switch. Random kids joined, and this pic made me realize that maybe Nintendo is onto something.

Must be something along those lines. I remember trips out or abroad as a kid and I'd bring my GB/GBC/GBA everywhere. Would I play it everywhere, no of course not, but that's the joy of portable. When my parents want to have a look around an exhibit I was too young to care about, or if we'd stopped for lunch, wanted to just enjoy the scenery (well, my parents) or any other occasion where time allowed I'd bring it out and carry on.

That's where my love of games started 20+ years ago and it's been with my since and brought me a lot of enjoyment both on my own and with others, both inside and out. Seeing this kid be able to show off his Switch, start up a game of HD Mario Kart and offer other kids around him a go on his console is awesome.

I'd be more proud of the fact that my kid was sharing his possession with others and socialising with the kids than if he'd walked and looked at another lego construct for a further 30m. I mean what do people think Legoland is, the peak of physical activity and outdoor entertainment?
