I'm glad too, it also became the official government line whenever the issue came up internationally. Only other country to do so is the United States. Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Nordic countries (minus Norway) have the law well set too but don't explicitly try to protect it elsewhere as these two do. Interestingly enough Japan and the US are also the only developed countries without hate speech laws which shows how similarly the law and constitution is interpreted in both countries and a reminder of the unique influence the US has left behind on Japan with its crafting of the nation's new constitution from scratch back in 1947 based on the American one.
