Too Many White Hip-Hop Fans Don't Give A Shit About Black People

I get it and yet I tuned in to Sway to get a different perspective. He kept it real and had some guys talking about the sheer number of homeless youth in Baltimore -- something I haven't heard mentioned elsewhere -- and then it went on to regular bullshit to lighten the mood. So I mean even there it was only so much and then back to entertainment.

Though the music that day was killer. Great list for the context.

We are all waiting for a movement and a leader and we're all gonna keep waiting for all that shit. We have leaders and we have people angry enough to riot and the "culture" has a voice that can reach millions and the wealthiest black people have enough to make lots of difference -- and some do, don't get me wrong -- but to what end?

If Jay-z opens a pharmacy or grocery where that CVS was maybe some of the homeless youth can get a job that pays enough to...who am I kidding.

I don't know what to say about immediate solutions ans problems and stuff. I'll say this though, if you're a guy like me who doesnt kbow shit about Baltimore - check out the YSK post I made and read up. At least put some historical perspective on this shit. Answer some quesrions like why are there so many (numbers) black people in Baltimore relative to other places? Why are there so many (percentage wise) black people on Baltimore? Not that that's either good nor bad, but can you explain how it came to be and what that means? Answer why are there no jobs in Baltimore? Where'd they go? What jobs are there? Why'd Baltimore succeed post Civil-War? Etc. Why were there riots where there were riots? It didn't just happen on random blocks. What's going on there at that point in time and space. Why Baltimore, why those neighborhoods, why young people, why now? Its not just about one guy.

All I can day is take this as a chance to learn about things and answer with facts to ignorant people (of any color) who spout shit like this all of a sudden happened for not reason on Monday. Like the YES Facebook page for homeless youth in Baltimore. Try to make a difference with some donations or give it to united way who also has legit homeless youth programs.

If anyone has read this far, well congrats. I'm sure I've lost a lot of people already. Ooh, fights on. Horse race. Shiny next thing....
