I touched a man!

I see your point, but I think in this case the reward outweighs the risk.

There is only one month left in the semester and then I won't see the teacher - probably ever again. So no long term risk. And short term: I don't have any intention of doing something inappropriate with him, nor does he as far as I am aware. He is very respectful around female students, has had this job for over a decade, and is happily married with kids. It also won't desensitize him to the idea of grooming minors in my opinion. This is a special school type I don't think exists outside of my country, but almost all students are adults, with the occasional student in the lower grades he doesn't teach being 19 (underage for here) and I am very much the exception with my age, so he wouldn't even have the opportunity to groom minors even if he wanted to. The average ages in the grades he teaches are 25 and 26.

This is the first man I felt comfortable around and would not rather jump out a window than talk to. I felt comfortable earlier and if this can help me be comfortable around more people, then I think I am willing to accept the risk of another man being an asshole.

I don't see a problem with an occasional touch on the arm or shoulder, he does that all the time with male students, and other teachers also do it. There's nothing big about it and there are a dozen other students and two cameras present at all times.
