Train Ticket checkers of Reddit, what are some of the funniest stories involving people without tickets?

Great story on behalf of my dad. He's worked for Go Transit in Toronto for around 30 years. He wrote up a ticket for some black guy who hadn't paid fare. (Him being black is pertinent to the story, I promise).

He had showed my dad his ID, but it only had the information part, not the photo. Back then ID in Ontario was 2 seperate cards (not in all cases I believe.) One for the photo, and one that contained information. This man claimed he had lost the photo part of license. My dad cut him some slack and simply wrote him up to either pay the fee or appear in court.

His court date passes, and they haven't heard back from the guy. My dad found a phone number attached to the name and info he took from the license. He began speaking with the guy on the phone, telling him he was supposed to appear in court or pay the fee. The guy seemed very confused and wondered what was going on. He stated he lived in Guelph (about an hour from Toronto) and had never taken a GO Train.

My dad began to ask the dude to describe himself, as it appeared fraud was the case here. Boiling it down, he asked what race the guy was to which he replied he was a white man. Seems like it's funny enough there.

Months later, my dad see's the same black guy on the train again, and finds he doesn't have a ticket. This time he is arrested and police are called. Supposedly this guy had bought a van from the guy who lived in Guelph, and he had accidentally left his driver's license inside.

So now that the cops are involved, everybody is trying to figure out this guy's real name. He tells them his name is Murray, and to call his boss to confirm it. His boss picks up the phone and literally says "Murray speaking". They inquire about the ID thief, and after questioning him and the real Murray. Turns out that he had been fired from Murray's restaurant and his real name is Tyrone. He had various arrest warrants for theft and some other stuff, and was taken into police custody.
