Transgender Man Sues Houston Police for Wrongful Arrest and Calling Him Not a Real Man.

I never said the way he wasn't treated wasn't messed up.

I'm saying the way he was treated, is EXACTLY in line with a cis-man making a identical request.

Cis guy: Hey, can you put me with the girls? I'm worried about being raped.

Cops: HAHAHAHAHA!

The problem wasn't that he "didn't pass".

The problem was, is that he did pass - and they mocked him, the same as any other man making a similar request.

If a cis-guy was concerned about being raped in a male prison, it wouldn't even be news.

It would be a joke, to tell at a party.

(ESPECIALLY if he asked to be placed with the girls.)

People are only going to care about that dude's fate, if they don't really see him as a guy in the first place.

Because no one cares if a man is raped.

Its nothing but a punchline.

Are you to one change that? Maybe.

Because it actually matters when bad shit happens to you, right?

Unlike a cis-man in a similar situation.

This is what happens when you further patriarchal notions of abuse as absolute.

Anyone who's abuse lies outside that dichotomy, isn't allowed to count.

Ironically enough, if they didn't see him as a man...

They would have honored his request.

But that's not good enough is it?

You want your cake, and eat it too.

You have no idea what its like to be a cis-man.

If you did, you would know that they DID treat him the same as any other man, making the same request.

And that is the sad part of this article.

It proves that this guy has NO fucking idea, what its like to actually be a man in that situation.

Since he was raised as a woman, he's so used to the abuse inflicted upon him being allowed to be "validated".....

He can't possibly imagine a world, where its not.

Well he's a guy, and he lives in that world now.

You want to change that for him, that's fine.

But cis-men have been living in that system for a really long time.

Now that's its happening to someone with a vagina, watch someone give a shit.

You want to talk privlage?

How about the privilege to have your abuse and mistreatment actually be validated?

That's a pretty big privlage, and the only men that have that privlage are trans-men.

So to steal a line from your feminist meet and greet:

Here's a cup for your male tears.

How does that feel to hear?
