Trump calls out Canadian dairy industry in morning tweet

Because the dairy lobbyists are well funded and politically savvy. The dairy industry spends over 100 million dollars every single year in this country on lobbying alone. I'm a farmer, know a dairy farmer or two. Dairy farmers make 10x more than any other type of farm work and that's probably on the low end. Moreover the days of waking up and hand milking are long gone and it's one of the least stressful types of farm work around. There is a reason dairy farmers are pretty happy and enjoy their work.

You seem to under the impression these farms are mom and pop shops that are family run businesses, hard workers toiling the cows to benefit Canadians. Statistics Canada shows that farms have been rapidly consolidating as farmers sell their quotas. Even though 25 percent of farms now produce the majority of Canada's dairy, Big-Ag farms have managed to brand the collective industry as small family-farms. From 2001 to 2011, Canadian dairy farms' net operating income almost doubled. On top of that they received over 4 billion in subsidies, despite a falling demand to "protect" them from beneficial trade deals, while other industries in Canada are allowed to crumble.

The way you replied to that other guy kinda bugged me, because you haven't actually said much more than "it isn't cheap substandard hormone and antibiotic filled garbage/$4 for a 2L should be okay enough for you" and now you're being patronizing. Do you actually work in or around the industry?
