The reason they are enemies is that they aren't actually media, but propagandists with political agendas that look out for the elite over the people.
Instead of uniting us, the media divides us to the point where people can't see how having so many republican candidates in an FPtP system gave trump the edge to sweep extremist "out of the loop" voters who wanted someone who wasn't in politics. Instead of questioning the system, the media decided to turn all trump supporters into racist, misogynistic bigots in the eyes of anyone watching the media.
I am not a fan of trump or Hillary by any means. I didn't vote because I found no candidate worth it and refuse to vote out of fear or disgust over agreement and understanding. But all that aside, Trump is right that main stream media is an enemy of the people. Not because they can report news, but because they actively suppress news in favor of political agendas and would sooner split the people in times of profit over uniting them in times of crisis.
Even this title is no more than a straw man, making trump sound like a hater of the first amendment, but in reality it is a man who is fed up with being the sacrificial goat of the press because they were finally caught red handed when their political narrative fell to pieces and they have to find a way to write themselves out of a corner.
