The Truth about the Dames Bungie Bounty

Great monologue! I've never even heard of the Dames of Destiny but now that I know they exist, I'm glad they do.

There are two females I've never met IRL but I play Destiny with (one on Xbox One, a different one on PS4) and they are both much better than the vast majority of men I play with, and generally a lot more fun to play with. Did the Skolas fight tonight with the PS4-playing female and another male who were both first timers to PoE35 and we knocked it out (which is super cool since now I have Moments of Triumph complete on both platforms /humblebrag) without much trouble considering 2/3rds of the fireteam had never attempted the 35 prior to the run. She handled the mines (on Skolas and Arc Burn cabal) as the hunter and made some really clutch moves and had a significantly higher KD (almost 3 times as high) than the other male we played with (though he was super cool too!).

Meanwhile I've tried a few times to do high level content with overly self-confident LFG "dude bros" where I eventually just had to leave because they weren't half as good as they thought they were and (worse) seemingly physically unable to take any sort of advise from people who had a lot more experience with the fight than they did. Being one sex or the other definitely does not magically make you better at Destiny or more worthy of playing it.

As said in the video here, games are for everyone. Men, women, kids of both sexes, the abled, the disabled, straight, gay, people of all races, tryhards, casuals, whatever. The only people we should be trying to exclude are people who can't get past the fact that games should be a safe place for anyone who just wants to play and have fun without being harassed. I really don't understand people's aversion to playing with people from different backgrounds, some of the most interesting people I play with are people with vastly different backgrounds who live in totally different places than I do, keeps things interesting!
