Yeah it’s still a viable tactic, it also depends on the situation ofc. If your mate is at a position to flank and gain a major pick I will always ask a team mate to shoot to mask or make the sound of crouch walking inaudible. Ofc most of the time this wouldnt work cuz most good teams will always have either a flank drone or watch flank consistently. Although if you DO find the opportunity and a team mate is near you can ask him to do that.

But other sound cues? Not really, explosions in this game is very loud to be mask by gun fire. However you can mask the defusing sound by an explosion which can work but hard to pull of at the heat of the moment.
