I’ve been having really bad anxiety about being back on campus.

i can't share your same motivations but i really feel you. i still am a bit of the same way and was 1000% this last semester. i'm finding my social phobia spike with how many people are around. first and foremost, i would suggest reaching out to UHS or a different mental health provider - anxiety/agoraphobia to the extent of impacting your day-to-day life really needs professional help. this degree of paranoia is harmful. this may take a while, so also reach out to the dean of students for quicker response. mcburney may also be able to help.

however, the following coping strategies have helped me a lot with it in the past (but because of our different motivations they may not work). the biggest two helps are (1) going out with someone else and (2) drowning out my surroundings with ANC headphones playing music, a podcast, or an audiobook. (1) is really hard i know, but being with someone else who seems less anxious helps calm me down and adjust my feelings. (2) serves to detach me from the situation i'm in, it's probably maladaptive, but when the alternative is literally not leaving my apartment for weeks is an improvement. i hope this can help.
