You’ve ghosted me for the last time…

If I had to guess by what they mean by urgent.

The messed up the task schedule and learned they won't have the personnel available to do it within the expected time frame. So in response to incompetence they make a job post in haste.

Then a bunch of people apply because they are all trying to feed themselves. Which means HR is now tasked with sifting through it all. As fast as possible

Now either they will hire an outside firm to do the leg work OR use whatever algorithm they set up. In both cases hoping that the thing will do the work fast enough to cover up their mismanagement of skilled labor.

Then either the task get done by someone and the team is blamed for the missed deadline or they manage to get someone in just on time, and are then preparing to blame them if the work is not done to their specs.

My guess.
