You have to be kidding me. That video is some of the jankiest shit I've ever seen in terms of tactics. If that man had really wanted to inflict damage on those officers, you would have seen a post on /r/news about their deaths.

Pepper spray and batons should NOT be the tools for dealing with someone armed with a knife. (Unfortunately in the UK their officers aren't armed but I guarantee you that their special response team with guns was coming asap to that call).

When someone (mentally ill or not) decides to walk around with a knife and approach armed police officers who have given multiple verbal commands, how are you surprised that they end up being shot? A person can close a 21ft gap and use their knife before a cop can draw and shoot in self-defense.

Further, the fact that you are saying things such as 'cops shoot people because their pride is on the line' is some of the most offensive and disgusting shit I've heard here on reddit. Have some respect and realize that police aren't hunting for people to kill. If that's how you think, then you should probably seek some sort of mental health treatment yourself.
