SRVs are closer to a ship than being on foot, it's probably very difficult to even balance the experience because the playable characters and the interactions are designed to be played on a flatscreen, unless you're willing to use a gamepad or KB/M to operate your character.
How would sneak work? Given that you can just tilt your head around a corner, would that mean the model and hitbox move too? If it didnt change the detection would that mean VR has an advantage?
On-foot experiences are very difficult when you have such a mixed and varied array of interactions on a game.
Having briefly tried VR, I can't imagine adding it to elite-feet being anything but a big challenge to implement.
