Picked up my 10-week-old Scottish Terrier a week ago today and she has been an absolute dream. She has slept in her crate each night from about 10:00 p.m. until I take her out at about 5:30 a.m. She loves the crate and frequently goes directly to it without a signal. Was worried about leaving her but she was out in the crate this morning and I did a three mile walk and returned to find her happily lounging in her crate. I've been running in and out of the house all day and she's not bothered in the least by my comings and goings. She was also fantastic at the office all week. I'd like to take some responsibility but feel confident it's good breeding, a good breeder, and just luck of the draw. Certainly not expecting clear sailing indefinitely but have not experienced any of the sleep deprivation or serious behavior issues I've read about here.
