A wave of evictions may be on the way in Denver

And those landlords mortgages are probably Government owned mortgages soooo?????

I think the example in the article is a poor one because that particular woman didn’t lose her job - she quit. My husband was furloughed mid March. The restaurant he works for just reopened at 50% patio only and literally halved their staff because they couldn’t offer them work - the 50% model is NOT profitable for bars and restaurants, period. A lot of people are going to lose their jobs permanently. Not to say new businesses won’t reopen, but in the interim now what? Covid unemployment is only lasting through the end of next month. And now with an almost 50% jump in evictions, where will these people move? Landlords are allowed to (and it’s unfortunately smart on their part) refuse to rent to people with evictions on their record. So where do these people move?

Our country has handled this poorly, point blank. We have family in Italy who quite literally had nothing to worry about - they just had to quarantine per their governments orders, but no one had to worry about their housing or income. We’ve had several examples of how other counties have handled this and we chose to still fuck our poor and lower middle class.
