I was in the car with my father when he was pulled over by police back in the 90s, (my parents hadn’t gotten divorced, and my mom was messing around with a cop) I watched 3 cops pull my dad out of the car, berate him, with stuff like, “you couldn’t fuck your wife that’s why I’m with her now”, put a gun to his forehead, he got it all on video, because this shit had been going for a while. He showed the video to internal affairs, which was incredibly difficult itself, they kept the tape, moved the officer to a different bear. a few weeks later, he went to jail for assaulting a police officer. He took a cops gun(the same one who stuck a pistol in his face) threw it away, and proceeded to beat the shit out of him, he turned himself in to a different precinct, but they still beat the fuck out of him after they cuffed him, he went to court for his assault on a cop charge, his lawyer explained about the prior internal affairs complaint, of course they had no record of it, he mentioned the video, of course they said the video didn’t exist, so the lawyer produced a copy,(the cops were dumb enough to think they had the only one), the judge refused it being played, because it wasn’t a jury trial. The entire thing was corrupt, fucked up farce, when the cops testified, they all told a different story, my dad did end up getting off without prison time, but they charged him with a misdemeanor simple assault charge, and put him 1 year probation. He proved beyond a shadow of a doubt he defended himself basically, and they still made him pay thousands into the legal system.
