Oh that's because Republicans are intolerant.

You see, the hardcore r/politics frequenting left are very tolerant and open minded people, as opposed to the xenophobic Nazis traitors on the other side who stay in their bubble of FoxNews and Breitbart and never hear or consider opposing arguments like the left does, apparently never watch mainstream media at all, or an award show, or late night comedy, they just sit in their echo chambers all day, except for when they wind up on lefty subs like r/politics and are swiftly voted down below the threshold where their comments are hidden from the open minded leftists who always make an good effort to consider the viewpoints of both sides.
