Wellington Diner decides to remain open despite provincially-mandated shutdown, hoping to get nailed by City Bylaw with a ticket so they can fight it in court.

The owner of this establishment is an absolute disgrace. I’ve supported this place once or twice, and let me tell you - it didn’t take seeing this post to convince me (and everyone else I know and told) not to return. Here is a few things I know about this place, from first hand and second hand experience (a best friend who worked there): - the owner is a sexist, misogynist pig. He sexually harasses his young, female employees, calls them stupid, puts them down, fires them for without reason upon the consideration of the jealous wife, etc. - racism (example: hateful, ignorant comments about interracial dating towards employees) - CHEAP and shit food. I mean, what kind of asshole refuses to allow his own servers to put ice in the water they are serving? I was told they intentionally serve warm drinks so that the customer will purchase a more expensive drink such as a beer or juice. Newsflash: if I’m eating in for breakfast and want coffee and a water, and I get warm tap water from you, all you’ve done is pissed me off. My business will go somewhere else.

Honestly, I feel for the staff who rely on this place for an income, but I hope it gets shutdown and doesn’t open up again. Their employees would be better off somewhere else.
