What do Americans find strange about Europe?

tbh looking at the replies, i doubt any european city is big enough for this to matter. like, in my large US city, we have two interstates, and 3 major state highways, which are all 6-8 lanes across and intersect with one another all over. i've lived here my whole life and i still use the cardinal directions all the time if i'm in a part of the city i don't regularly go to, god forbid i get tangled up at the airport which connects to all of them.

i've visited berlin, which actually has a smaller population than my city, and in terms of freeways there was just no comparison. i don't think most of these people have experienced a city like LA, Chicago, etc. remember Paris only has like ~2.25 mill, Berlin ~3.5 population. We have about 15 metro areas larger than either. we're just working on a whole different scale.
